frederick Seventh Day Adventist

Frederick, Maryland

Hord Architects won a design competition held by the church.  The town of Frederick is known for its beautiful church spires that dot the horizon.  The members were interested in continuing the history and tradition of Frederick by exploring the use of Georgian and Colonial American Architecture.  The solution is intended to allow each component of the program to communicate its own function and purpose.

This church and school include a sanctuary, chapel, education building, and gymnasium, all totaling over 45,000 square feet. Phase 1 was completed in 1997.
