Senior Design Architect

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the tragic and unexpected loss of Eric on July 28,2026. We are grateful for the outpouring of prayer and support from friends, colleagues, and clients alike.

Eric Ivers joined Hord Architects in 2012 and brought a well-rounded record that bridged a deep appreciation of Classical architecture and traditional urban design with a practical background in general contracting and construction management.  He was a licensed architect in the state of Tennessee, and NCARB certified, allowing for reciprocity in other states.

Eric had familiarity in all phases of architecture services with experience in civic, K-12, elementary and higher education, commercial, residential, and multi-family housing, historic preservation projects.  Moreover, he had experience in master planning and urban design.  He was an avid scholar of history, philosophy, and the classics.  This gave him a rich resource from which to create relevant buildings full of life and energy while maintaining an architectural language rooted within the great tradition.

Eric’s father was a church planter and preacher in the Pacific Northwest, and this gave him a deep appreciation of theology and ministry.  Mr. Ivers was married to his wife Brandie and they had five children.  They are members of the Presbyterian Church of America and currently attend Independent Presbyterian Church in Memphis.
